A couple of weeks ago, I went down to Jacksonville to see Carley. While we were there, we decided to try to take headshots in downtown Swansboro. Really this was just code for “see how much mischief we can get into,” but however you interpret it, it was a success.
For anyone who hasn’t been to Swansboro, it’s a sleepy little town on the outer banks of NC. It’s honestly one of my favorite downtowns to walk through because it’s full of quirky shops and cafes that I can get lost in. This time was no different as we continued to discover new details and unique novelties of the little town.
One of my favorite shops is definitely the Poor Man’s Hole. It’s a big mosh posh of random nautical themed items that you’d probably never find anywhere else. I also really love the Salt Marsh Cottage. Pretty much everything in there is “my style” and I have to resist the urge to buy it all. The last time I was in there, I stared an $800 painting…for way too long. I still regret walking away without it. And did I mention my favorite seafood restaurant ever? The Saltwater Grill. If you ever go to the area, that needs to be your “date night” dinner. No excuses.
