Rain on the Canyon

The sun sets over the Grand Canyon moments after an evening rain storm. A few souls venture to the edge to watch.

I took this photo, years ago before ever thinking of becoming a landscape photographer. In this moment, my husband and I walked aimlessly along the edge of the canyon watching the sun set to the left. It was incredible though, to see the rain floating from the clouds into the canyon. The sun painted the sky red while the clouds added their own mystery to the scene.

A part of me wants to remove the people on the edge of the rock. But when I think of how God made this moment for me to capture, He had also shared this moment with those people. Each one of them, in turn, are also creations of God, loved by God, so of course they belong in the scene.
