Reading Room Redesign I

Some of you may know that my husband and I are in the process of buying a house. Now from the outside there doesn’t seem to be anything crazy special, but as soon as you walk in the front door, you are greeted with super tall cathedral ceilings and huge fireplace separating the formal living area from the casual living area.

I’ll post more photos once we are actually in the house, but I just couldn’t wait to start moodboards for the formal space, which I’ve deemed the reading room.

Though the house isn’t a strong midcentury piece, I keep getting subtle vibes from it that make me want to push the limits. I’m so excited to see what we end up with.

The main focal piece I’m so obsessed with right now is a green settee or sofa. This will for sure be the focal point of the design. I need it to be romantic but with a gatsby attitude and found this one from One Kings Lane. It’s a good starting point and will help direct us as we develop our look a little more.

I’m a Jesus loving mom of two with an eye for beautiful things. When I was a kid, I always wanted to grow up to “make things” and that’s exactly what I did.

I started out as an interior designer with a side passion for
photography. Over time, I began to find more and more joy from my work behind the camera. Once I made the jump full time, there was no turning
back.
